Flap Turnstile
A Flap Turnstile is a type of automated gate that is widely used for access control and crowd management in areas requiring moderate security. Unlike the tripod turnstile, flap turnstiles use retractable flaps or panels that open and close to allow or restrict entry. Flaps or wings (usually made of glass, acrylic, or plastic) open when access is granted and close immediately after the person has passed. It can be integrate with biometric or card-based access systems, providing a higher level of security than some other types of turnstiles. These turnstiles allow for faster processing of people compared to traditional tripod turnstiles, making them ideal for high-traffic areas.
